Network fees

Understand who receives a network fee, why it changes and which other charges may appear in a routed operation.

A network fee pays for processing under the rules of the selected blockchain. It is separate from the amount sent and is usually paid in the network's native fee asset.

Why the estimate changes#

The estimate can change with network demand, transaction size or computation, and the selected priority. The final network result is recorded on-chain.

Other possible costs#

A swap can also include a provider fee, spread or price impact. QuiNVarium Wallet shows the available quote before confirmation; the current policy is rendered above from versioned data.

Failed transactions#

Some networks charge for attempted computation even when an action fails. A failed status therefore does not always mean that no fee was spent.

Insufficient fee asset#

If a token balance is available but the transaction cannot be sent, you may need the network's native fee asset. See Insufficient fee asset.
