Self-custody
Learn what control of a self-custody wallet means and which responsibilities cannot be delegated to support.
Self-custody means that control of the wallet comes from keys you manage, not from an account held by QuiNVarium Wallet.
What this gives you#
You do not need QuiNVarium Wallet to approve each ordinary blockchain transaction. A valid backup can restore the wallet in a compatible implementation even if the original device is unavailable.
What this requires#
You are responsible for protecting the recovery phrase, verifying transaction details and keeping the device secure. Blockchain transfers are generally irreversible after confirmation.
A safe baseline#
- Install only from an official download.
- Write the recovery phrase down in the correct order.
- Keep the backup offline and separate from the device.
- Send a small test amount when using a new address or network.
- Treat unsolicited support messages as suspicious.
