Staking

Stake a network coin with a validator, check the APR and the lock time, and follow the status of each stake.

Staking delegates the coin of a network to a validator under that network's rules. Rewards, lock periods and risks are set by the network and the validator, not by the app. QuiNVarium Wallet offers staking on the 13 networks listed under Networks.

Stake a coin#

  1. On the wallet screen, open the coin, for example SOL. If it is not on the list, turn it on in Manage assets.
  2. Under Balances, tap Stake. Before your first stake, this row shows the current APR.
  3. Check APR, Lock Time and, on networks that have one, Minimum amount.
  4. Under Manage, tap Stake.
  5. Enter the amount or tap Max. With Max, the app leaves a small amount for future network fees and shows how much.
  6. Under Validator, keep the validator the app picked or tap it to choose another.
  7. Tap Continue, check the network fee and tap Confirm.

The stake appears under Delegations. Open it to see its status and the actions the network allows: Stake more, Unstake, Redelegate, Withdraw or Claim Rewards.

A watch-only wallet shows the stakes of its address but has no Manage section.

APR#

APR is the yearly reward rate for staking. The Stake screen shows the rate of the network, and the list of validators shows the rate of each validator. The rate changes with the network and the validator and does not promise income.

Status#

Each stake under Delegations has a Status:

StatusMeaning
ActiveThe stake is delegated to an active validator.
ActivatingThe network is activating the stake. Active In shows when, if the network reports it.
PendingThe network is still processing a stake or an unstake. Available In shows when the coins become available, if the network reports it.
DeactivatingThe stake is being unstaked. Available In shows when, if the network reports it.
Awaiting WithdrawalThe lock time is over. Open the stake and tap Withdraw to return the coins to your balance.
InactiveThe validator is not active. Tap Unstake or, where the network allows it, Redelegate.

Validator#

A validator is the network participant your stake is delegated to. When you stake, the app picks one of the validators under Recommended, or the first one in the list if the network has none there. Tap the validator to open Validators and choose another:

  • Recommended lists validators set in the app's configuration for the network;
  • Active lists the active validators the app receives for the network.

Each validator shows its APR. On a stake's screen, tap the validator to open it in the network's explorer when the explorer has a page for it. If a validator becomes inactive, its stakes show Inactive.

Lock time#

Lock Time, also called the unbonding or unfreezing period, is how long coins stay unavailable after you unstake them. The Stake screen shows it for the network; the values are listed under each network below.

To unstake, open the stake under Delegations and tap Unstake. On some networks you choose the amount, on others the whole stake is unstaked. Until the lock time ends, the stake shows a status such as Pending or Deactivating. On networks with a withdrawal step, it then shows Awaiting Withdrawal: tap Withdraw to return the coins to your available balance.

Networks#

The lock time and the minimum amount below are the values the app shows on the Stake screen.

BNB Chain. Lock time: 7 days. Minimum: 1 BNB. You can unstake part of a stake and move it to another validator with Redelegate; after the lock time, tap Withdraw.
