Recovery phrase exposed
Move assets to a newly created wallet when another person or service may have seen the recovery phrase.
Treat a recovery phrase as exposed when it was entered on a website, sent in a message, shown through screen sharing, stored on a compromised device or seen by an untrusted person.
Act from a trusted device#
- Disconnect from the suspected scam or remote-access session.
- On a clean, verified device, install QuiNVarium Wallet from Official downloads.
- Create a completely new wallet with a new recovery phrase.
- Back up the new phrase offline.
- Copy receiving addresses from the new wallet.
- Transfer assets from the exposed wallet, prioritizing valuable and easily movable assets.
- Review and revoke risky contract approvals when the network supports it.
- Stop using the exposed phrase after the migration.
Do not wait for support approval#
Support cannot invalidate the old phrase or prevent another holder from signing. Use official support for safe guidance and public transaction analysis, not for sharing the phrase.
After containment, report the scam with non-secret evidence.
